I love cruises. I have become an avid cruiser and have done them a couple of times before. It has become a trip planning habit of mine, to search for one sometimes when I plan a holiday. Here are 5 reasons to consider a cruise holiday and why cruises are my favourite way to holiday.
1. Multi-Destination Holiday.
Cruise holidays are the quickest way to cover a lot of ground while traveling. Depending on the route, you could stop at different ports and countries during the cruise. When I went to Greece, I experienced Mykonos, Santorini, Crete and Athens in just four days. On another holiday, I cruised the Mediterranean and explored Malta, Spain, France, Palermo and Italy in just seven days. MSC cruises also offers amazing itineraries that start from the local port of Durban. If you like to get the most out of your holiday, definitely consider this option.
2. Affordable Price.
Contrary to what people assume, cruises are very reasonable and you can find a good deal anytime, almost anywhere in the world. The price of a cruise holiday is all inclusive and covers the majority of your trip with things like meals served to you approximately 6 times a day, in high Michelin star restaurants. Depending on the cruise liner, the price could be inclusive of drinks, WiFi and excursions. However, there is always an option to pre-book any additional services that you might need for your trip. It also gives you the ease of knowing the total costs of your trip beforehand which could further help you budget accordingly.

3. Exceptional entertainment.
The on-board entertainment is like no other. Cruises really put in a lot of work to make sure their guests are never bored during their time on sea by providing countless number of things to do. On a cruise holiday, you can expect to be entertained by themed-dinner nights, movies in a cinema, theatrical plays, clubs, cooking classes, dancing classes, poolside bands, a variety of social games and piano bar performances in the evenings.

4. Kids Cruise for free.
They are extremely child friendly. I don’t have kids myself but every time I go on a cruise I wish I did so that they could enjoy the benefits of a free cruise holiday. Kids are also kept entertained by the provision of kid centered activities. You can take your kids with you and still get a break from your everyday parental duties as they are kept entertained in the various parties and events hosted for kids.
5. Requires Minimal Planning.
If the planning phase of a trip doesn’t quite excite you, or you don’t know how to go about it then cruise holidays might be more suitable for you as the itinerary is pre-set which removes the stress of planning a trip. Though this means that you would have to adhere to the tight cruise schedule, the convenience of not having to worry about the logistics of your trip is a huge benefit.
